It may be natural in Japanese to enunciate in that manner but in the English-speaking world especially when it comes to acting, that's overreacting. A normal English speaker would find that manner of speech unnatural. I imagined myself speaking the English subs in the same tone as the characters were speaking in Japanese and already, it sounded very weird and silly.
